Prof. Dr. med. dent. Andreas Olze
Adjunct Professor at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, specialist in implantology and complex prosthetics, and Managing Director of Professor Olze und Kollegen MVZ GmbH in Berlin-Mitte.
Welcome to our state-of-the-art dental practice on Friedrichstraße. As a practicing dentist and longtime university professor, I combine cutting-edge university research with modern, evidence-based dentistry in my daily practice. My goal is to always provide you with treatments that reflect the latest advances in dental science.

Scientific Expertise in Everyday Practice: The Highest Quality of Care and Safety for Your Teeth
Prof. Dr. Olze’s academic research focuses primarily on the fields of forensic age assessment, radiological evaluation of dental development, and the biocompatibility of implant materials. What specific benefits does this scientific expertise offer you in the dental chair?
1. Evidence-Based Dentistry
Scientists are trained to continuously and critically evaluate existing standards and to objectively assess clinical studies. For you, this means that our practice uses only diagnostic and therapeutic procedures whose safety, tolerability, and efficacy have been scientifically and clinically proven beyond a doubt.
2. Extensive experience as a pioneer in implantology
As early as his dissertation (1994) at Charité, Prof. Dr. Olze researched the biocompatibility and osseous integration of biovitroceramics following endosseous implantation—essential basic research for today’s modern ceramic dental implants. This deep understanding of tissue compatibility and jaw biology is directly incorporated into every implant and bone augmentation procedure.
3. Analytical precision in complex findings
Forensic dentistry requires absolute meticulousness, structured thinking, and the highest precision in the evaluation of X-rays and tissue structures (6). We apply this analytical rigor to complex full-mouth restorations, unclear temporomandibular joint and facial pain (TMJ), as well as in the diagnosis of function and pain.
4. Leading University Network & Highest Standards
Thanks to our direct affiliation with Charité Berlin and our participation in international exchanges, our practice has access to a direct interdisciplinary network of university specialty departments, oral surgeons, and master laboratories when dealing with highly complex cases. University-level precision and seamless quality control characterize our daily practice operations.

Scientific Achievements & “The Olze Method”
Prof. Dr. Olze is the author of more than 50 scientific articles published in international journals (1). His primary research interests include:
- Mineralization of wisdom teeth: Research on third molars for age estimation, incorporating ethno-population-specific comparative data, and validation of the Demirjian classification (7, 8).
- Developed evaluation methods (“Olze Method”): Procedures for the radiographic assessment of the visibility of the root pulp, the periodontal space, and the Gustafson criteria in third molars (9, 10, 11). These methods have been validated as highly accurate in international publications (including those from China and Brazil) and are cited as the “Olze method” (1, 12).
- Radiation-free imaging: Pioneering work on the evaluation of mineralization stages using 3.0 Tesla magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) (13).
